Kentucky Virtual University adds online programs
FRANKFORT, KY (August 28, 2001) - The Kentucky
Virtual University added 24 online programs this fall to help
meet the growing demand for "any time, anywhere" access
to college and professional development degrees and certificates.
Daniel Rabuzzi, acting CEO of Kentucky's official virtual campus,
said the state's colleges and universities are to be commended
for developing the accredited programs that the virtual university
now offers to residents across the state.
"These new programs will expand Kentuckians' access to
critical educational programs and courses and will create a
better educated workforce," said Rabuzzi.
Rabuzzi said the number of programs will continue to grow. "We
are presently working with several Kentucky institutions to
develop new programs and to increase capacity in existing ones,"
he added.
Kentucky colleges and universities offering the new online programs
include Eastern Kentucky University, Kentucky Community and
Technical College System, Lexington Community College, Lexington
Community College Unit for Continuing Education and Workforce
Development, University of Louisville Division of Distance and
Continuing Education, and Western Kentucky University.
The University of Baltimore's webMBA is the only out-of-state
program added to expand capacity. Under the agreement, UB will
offer Maryland in-state tuition rates to Kentucky residents.
The UB MBA marks the third MBA that the KYVU offers. Both Morehead
State University and Sullivan University offer MBA degrees through
the KYVU.
