Kentucky Virtual Library for Kids earns Golden
Web Award
Kentucky Virtual Library for Kids has received
a Golden Web Award from the International Association of Webmasters
and Designers. The interactive web portal was launched only
two months ago.
Designed specifically for first through fifth
graders, the fun and informative site features 24/7 access to
useful resources and links including:
- Grolier’s Encyclopedias in English and Spanish;
- Searchasaurus that connects students to magazines and almanacs;
- “Space Dog” and “All the Known Information
in the Universe”;
- Kentuckiana Digital Library filled with historical documents;
and
- A step-by-step guide to help students learn how to research
online.
The association presents the awards to sites “whose
web design, originality and content have achieved levels of
excellence deserving of recognition.”
The web portal is accessed through the Kentucky
Virtual Library at www.kyvl.org. From the home page, click on
“Kids” and turn the speakers up! For more information,
