Criteria for Offering Programs and Courses via the KYVC
Diploma, Certificate, Degree Program Criteria
The institution must be approved by the KYVC CEO to participate in the KYVC. The provider will then submit the "Degree Program Information" required for participation, including the program contact office, individual contact, and contact information. At least 75 percent of the didactic portion of the program must be offered at a distance. Providers will review the programs based on the four- to six-year academic review cycles of the provider. Provider courses offered through the KYVC must count toward the residency requirement of the provider. The KYVC Provider must ensure reasonable access for the distance student to: - financial aid,
- library services,
- computer services,
- student services, and
- ADA services.
Course Criteria
The institution must be approved by the KYVC CEO to participate in the KYVC. The provider will then submit the "Course Information" required for participation. A course is approved for a calendar year (in which it may be offered multiple times).
Courses will be evaluated using the evaluation processes of the Provider Institution. The faculty will adhere to the KYVC Course Development Guidelines under the advisement of the KYVC Coordinator of that Provider Institution. Faculty using KYVC course management systems are advised to export courses on their own data storage medium on a regular basis.
