Kentucky Quality Matters Consortium

The Kentucky Quality Matters (QM) Consortium is a voluntary statewide consortium dedicated to the continuous and systemic improvement of distance learning and teaching. The KY-QM Consortium members work together to create benchmarks for quality assurance and standards of excellence in online learning using the comprehensive rubric and peer course review process of the nationally acclaimed Quality Matters program.

The QM toolset and process are:

  1. based in national standards of best practice, the research literature and instructional design principles
  2. designed to promote student learning
  3. integral to a continuous quality improvement process
  4. part of a faculty-driven, peer review process

The Kentucky Virtual Campus facilitates and enhances the efforts of Kentucky's postsecondary and other education providers to help ensure their students succeed in online courses. The goals of the KY-QM initiative are to

e.g., serve on QM Advisory Board, support collaborative of KY-QM representatives in QM User Group

As KY-QM Consortium members, the institutions:

  1. Commit to a systematic and comprehensive continuous quality assurance process that includes faculty training, course development, course revision, and accreditation
  2. Meet current national standards and incorporate new technologies and research findings
