KYVC Principles of Good Practice

The quality of the postsecondary coursework offered via distance learning technologies through the KYVC is of paramount importance. The Principles of Good Practice identify the expectations and requirements for provider participation in the Kentucky Virtual University (KYVC). Thus, each provider and faculty member offering an electronically- delivered distance learning course or program and related student services through the KYVC will be asked to ensure compliance with these principles.

Accreditation for Partners

The accreditation of KYVC partner providers by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) is implemented through SACS and not KYVC. Partner providers designate a contact liaison to coordinate communication between SACS and the partner regarding any issues with KYVC programs and courses.

Criteria for Offering Programs and Courses via the KYVC

In 1999 the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education approved the criteria for offering a program or course via the KYVC. This link takes you to the criteria for (a) diploma, certificate and degree programs and (b) courses.

Kentucky Quality Matters Consortium

In 2006 the Kentucky Virtual Campus became a subscribing member of the nationally acclaimed Quality Matters program in order to provide support for Kentucky institutions who have now created a Kentucky Quality Matters Consortium.

Issues of Copyright and Intellectual Property in a Digital Environment

This link takes you to the Kentucky Virtual Library (KYVL) site, with many detailed Web sources for investigating the issues, including the official federal copyright sites.
